Reliable Hotel HVAC Through EXINDA Modular
A 160-room airport hotel in Seattle, Washington, required a more flexible alternative to its aging boiler and air-cooled chiller system.
The existing HVAC plant relied on separate equipment for winter heating and summer cooling. This increased maintenance requirements, occupied valuable plant space and offered limited redundancy during equipment servicing.
The reference solution uses five EXINDA 24 Ton R32 commercial air-to-water heat pumps connected in a modular cascade. The system is designed to provide heating, cooling and domestic hot water preheating through one hydronic platform.

A 160-room airport hotel in Seattle required a flexible replacement for its aging boiler and chiller system. EXINDA proposed five 24 Ton R32 commercial air-to-water heat pumps to provide year-round heating, cooling and domestic hot water preheating through one modular hydronic system.
The five-unit system delivers approximately 1,535 MBH of nominal heating capacity and 102 Ton of nominal cooling capacity. Equipped with inverter-driven EVI scroll compressors, low-ambient operation and intelligent defrost control, the system maintains approximately 1,375 MBH of heating capacity at 18°F outdoor ambient and 113°F leaving-water temperature.
EXINDA’s modular cascade design adjusts output according to hotel occupancy and allows the remaining units to continue operating when one unit requires maintenance. For distributors, contractors and hotel developers, it provides a scalable, low-GWP and service-friendly alternative to separate boiler and chiller plants.
