EXINDA Breeze 50-100CFM Energy Recovery Ventilator
COMPACT RESIDENTIAL ENERGY RECOVERY VENTILATION
EXINDA Breeze ICMBCNF1AYE is a 9-1/2 in. deep ceiling-mounted residential ERV for balanced whole-home ventilation where bulkhead or joist depth decides the equipment. It has three selectable settings of 53, 70 and 90 CFM with 4 in. duct connections, holds the selected airflow as duct resistance rises, and can be interlocked with a furnace or air handler through 24 V thermostat terminals.
Is this the right compact ceiling ERV for your project?
- Available depth is the binding constraint, not airflow.
- Required continuous ventilation is within the certified 95 CFM envelope.
- Ventilation should follow the furnace or air handler rather than run on its own schedule.
- Ceiling access is available for filters, core and controller wiring.
Before confirming the model, verify net airflow at design static pressure, duct noise and ceiling service access.

Airflow and Energy Recovery Performance
Fan curve values show how the high airflow point responds to external static pressure. Energy recovery performance is reported at separate test conditions, each with its own inlet temperature, airflow and power.
| Performance | Net airflow | Power | Recovery metric |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0.1 in. w.g. fan curve | 94 CFM | 43 W | — |
| 0.4 in. w.g. fan curve | 96 CFM | 66 W | — |
| 0.8 in. w.g. fan curve | 98 CFM | 94 W | — |
| 1.2 in. w.g. fan curve | 100 CFM | 120 W | — |
| 32 °F inlet supply | 64 CFM | 30 W | 77% SRE / 80% adjusted SRE |
| −13 °F inlet supply | 43 CFM | 30 W | 44% SRE / 45% adjusted SRE |
| 95 °F inlet supply | 65 CFM | 30 W | 63% total / 65% adjusted total recovery |

Breeze ERV Selection Questions
When is this the right unit instead of a larger ERV?
The cabinet is 9-1/2 in. high with 4 in. round duct connections, so it fits a shallow bulkhead, a dropped ceiling or a joist bay where a 20 in. class cabinet will not. Choose it when the ventilation requirement sits at or below the 95 CFM certified net supply and the constraint is depth rather than airflow.
Can it run with a furnace or air handler rather than as a standalone unit?
Yes. The controller wires to 24 V thermostat terminals (C / G / R / W / Y) and to a furnace 24 V terminal block, so ventilation can follow the HVAC system rather than run on an independent schedule. A bathroom timer with 20 / 40 / 60 minute high-speed cycles and an electronic dehumidistat are supported as optional inputs.
How much airflow is lost on a long or restrictive duct run?
Very little. The fan curve reports 94 CFM net supply at 0.1 in. w.g. and 100 CFM at 1.2 in. w.g.; the ECM motor holds the selected airflow as duct resistance rises, which is why the high setting can be scheduled against calculated static pressure rather than a nominal figure.
What happens to recovery in a cold climate?
Recovery falls as outdoor temperature drops, and the submittal states it rather than averaging it: 77% SRE at 32 °F and 64 CFM, 44% SRE at −13 °F and 43 CFM, both at 30 W. Defrost is exhaust-based. For design-day calculations in a cold climate, use the −13 °F row, not the headline figure.
