Ceiling-Suspended Heat Pump Selection Questions

How does this differ from the 12,000 Btu/h AURA HPERV?

This ceiling-suspended unit provides heating and cooling with optional ERV. The 12,000 Btu/h AURA HPERV integrates energy-recovery ventilation. Cooling/heating ratings are 8,500/9,000 Btu/h versus 12,000/14,000 Btu/h, and maximum auxiliary heat is 1.5 kW versus 3 kW. Select by zone load, installation space and ventilation requirements.

Is ERV included as standard?

No. ERV is optional. The ventilation figures shown here apply to the documented ERV configuration; confirm the selected configuration and supply scope before ordering.

Is 382–630 CFM the fresh-air ventilation rate?

No. This is airflow in the heat-pump outdoor heat-exchange circuit, not room ventilation. The optional ERV configuration has separate ventilation data.

What happens below 5 °F outdoor?

The model data states that the compressor is disabled below 5 °F and electric auxiliary heat provides up to 1.5 kW. Check this against the design load; no lower outdoor limit for auxiliary operation is stated in the model data.

Which heating capacity should selection use?

Use the published condition-specific capacities: 9,000 Btu/h at 47 °F, 8,250 Btu/h at 23 °F and 7,000 Btu/h at 5 °F.

What controls are available?

The model data specifies a wall-mounted digital touch controller and 24 V dry contact. Wi-Fi and BACnet are optional; confirm interfaces, accessories and supply scope for the project.

What should a first enquiry include?

Send the project location, building type, room or suite load, available ceiling depth, intended mounting position, ventilation requirement and whether optional ERV is needed. Include quantity and schedule if known.
