ERV Alternative Proposal: From Your Schedule to EXINDA Options

EXINDA ERV alternative proposal with ventilation equipment and project documents displayed on a table.

An ERV alternative proposal from EXINDA identifies candidate models, compares scheduled requirements and records differences for engineering review. Send your equipment schedule, associated notes and relevant drawings to start the assessment.

EXINDA is an ERV manufacturer supporting contractors, consultants, distributors and builders serving the United States and Canada. Our team can review the requirements and identify suitable EXINDA options where available.

An ERV alternative proposal should help your engineering team understand three things: which product is proposed, how it compares with the scheduled requirements, and what still needs confirmation.

Start With the Complete Schedule

An equipment schedule provides the starting point for selection. It may identify the service area, supply and exhaust airflow, external static pressure, electrical supply, power, dimensions and equipment weight.

The associated notes can add requirements that materially affect the selection, including filtration, boost controls, frost protection, sound limits and installation arrangements.

EXINDA reviews both parts together. If a note is unclear or conflicts with another requirement, it needs clarification before the proposed configuration can be finalized.

For an efficient review, provide:

  • The equipment schedule and all referenced notes.
  • Relevant ventilation layouts and installation constraints.
  • Required controls and accessories.
  • The deadline for engineering review.
  • Estimated quantities and the delivery program.

Receive Product Options Organized by Equipment Tag

Where a suitable option is available, EXINDA can identify the proposed model against the corresponding equipment tag in your schedule.

Your ERV alternative proposal can include the candidate configuration, supporting technical documents and a comparison of the principal requirements. Where differences remain, these should be visible alongside the proposed option.

Not every scheduled unit will necessarily have a suitable standard alternative. If a requirement is outside the available product range or documented operating limits, we identify that gap for discussion.

What an ERV Alternative Proposal Should Show

The following is a review template, not a completed product selection or an approved project comparison.

ERV alternative proposal review template
Scheduled Requirement Information for the Proposed EXINDA Option Review Outcome to Record
Supply and exhaust airflow Documented operating range and proposed settings for both air streams Supported match, difference or further verification required
External static pressure Available airflow data at the required pressure and configuration Whether the proposed operating point is supported
Power supply Voltage, phase and frequency of the proposed model Match or electrical coordination required
Recovery performance Published metric, airflow and test conditions Comparable evidence or a remaining information gap
Filtration Proposed filter specification and applicable configuration Standard provision, confirmed option or unresolved requirement
Controls and frost protection Documented functions and operating sequence Supported functions and items requiring clarification
Sound Available sound data with the stated operating and measurement conditions Whether the project limit has been demonstrated
Dimensions and access Equipment drawings, connection positions and service requirements Installation fit or coordination needed

A useful ERV alternative proposal records the next action as well as the difference. This might be confirming a control requirement, obtaining additional performance information or reviewing an installation detail with the project team.

Review the Required Operating Point

A candidate model should be assessed at the operating conditions required by the project.

For example, a published airflow value at a given static pressure does not, by itself, demonstrate that the unit can operate at a lower scheduled airflow. The model's documented operating range and available control settings also need review.

Where different supply and exhaust rates are specified, the proposed configuration should be checked against both requirements. Automatic balancing should not be treated as proof that any requested combination can be achieved.

The same discipline applies to recovery performance. The proposal should retain the published metric names and test conditions so that the engineer can identify whether the figures are directly comparable.

Keep Performance Evidence Traceable

Technical values in an ERV alternative proposal should point to the relevant model documentation.

Where applicable, the review can refer to the model's public HVI performance record alongside its current technical submittal. Installation dimensions, control functions and service requirements should be checked against the corresponding manufacturer documentation.

If a requested performance value is not available, the proposal should identify the missing information. Another published percentage should not be substituted without establishing that it represents the required measure.

The result is an ERV alternative proposal that supports engineering review without presenting unresolved items as confirmed compliance.

Technical Submittals and Revit Files

EXINDA can provide available model-specific documentation to support the proposed selection, including technical submittals, performance information, dimensional drawings and installation documentation.

Revit files are also available for applicable ERV models. See the technical submittal and Revit resources on the EXINDA Breeze ERV product page.

Please identify the proposed model and your required Revit version when requesting files. The appropriate file and compatibility can then be confirmed.

Revit files support design coordination and should be used together with the current technical submittal and installation requirements.

Support Your Contractors Before Installation

Once the equipment selection and project requirements are confirmed, EXINDA can arrange online training for your contractors covering installation requirements, startup procedures and commissioning guidance.

Share the selected model, planned arrangement and installation team's questions before the session. This allows the training to focus on the equipment and issues relevant to your project.

Site installation, field measurements and final commissioning records remain with the appointed project team.

Confirm the Commercial Scope

The quotation should identify the proposed equipment, quantities, included accessories, lead time and applicable warranty terms.

If delivery to a warehouse or project address is required, provide the destination and delivery requirements. You can also specify your preferred quotation currency.

Freight, included services and other commercial terms will be confirmed in the project quotation.

Request Your ERV Alternative Proposal

Looking for an ERV alternative for a residential, multifamily or other applicable project?

Send your equipment schedule, referenced notes and relevant drawings to EXINDA. Tell us when the proposal is needed and whether you require technical submittals, Revit files or contractor training support.

Our team can review available product options and identify the supporting documentation, differences and outstanding questions for your engineering team.

Request an ERV Alternative Proposal

Final acceptance of a proposed alternative remains subject to the project engineer's review and approval.
